Transform Your Smile With Restorative Dentistry
What is Restorative Dentistry?
Any dental procedure that restores or replaces a tooth is referred to as restorative dentistry. Cavity fillings, root canals, and even dental implants are all examples of restorative procedures. Restorative dentistry can have two goals: restoring the function of the teeth and restoring the aesthetics of the teeth.
Many individuals ignore minor dental issues because they believe they aren’t a huge deal, which inevitably leads to a serious problem. Cavities can grow, spread, and affect surrounding teeth, and damaged enamel will eventually break completely, so having your teeth fixed as soon as possible is always the best option. You’ll eliminate the need for more extensive and costly procedures in addition to improving your smile.
Restorative dental procedures have many benefits. The most significant advantage of restorative procedures is that it restores the function of your teeth, which can also prevent future dental issues. Correcting a dental problem as soon as it is detected helps prevent it from worsening or producing more dental problems down the line. It would be best to fix a cavity as soon as Dr. Desai finds it to avoid the need for a root canal. If a cavity is left untreated for too long, it might lead to a tooth that cannot be salvaged and must be extracted and replaced with a dental implant, costing you more in the long run. And finally, restorative dentistry can improve the appearance of your smile.

Dental Implants
If you’re missing one or more teeth, dental implants may be the best option for restoring your beautiful smile. Dental implants are the gold standard in restorative dentistry, providing unrivaled support and function while mimicking the look and feel of natural teeth. Don’t make do with missing teeth or removable dentures—find out how dental implants can help you. Dental implant procedures are tailored to your specific needs, whether you’re missing one tooth or an entire arch of teeth. Unlike other tooth replacement options, dental implants are a long-term solution that can last a lifetime.
Dental Crowns
A dental crown is a restoration that encases the entire tooth surface and restores its shape and size to its original state. A crown protects and reinforces tooth structure that cannot be replaced with fillings or other treatments. Although there are different types of crowns, porcelain crowns are the most common since they closely resemble your natural teeth. Porcelain crowns are incredibly long-lasting and can last for many years. Like most dental restorations, they may need to be replaced at some point due to normal wear. Porcelain crowns are made to fit your teeth’ shape, size, and color for a stunning, natural-looking smile.
Tooth-Colored Fillings
A dental filling is a common and effective way to restore a tooth that has been damaged or decayed to its original function and shape. Dentists utilized metal amalgams to treat damaged or decayed teeth in the past. Most dentists have switched to tooth-colored composite resin fillings because they are more visually superior. This material allows us to make a restoration that looks natural, protects natural tooth structure, and lasts for years. Dr. Desai removes decayed tooth material, cleans the afflicted areas, and fills the disinfected cavity with a filling resin.
Root Canals
Usually, the reason for a root canal is that the inside of the tooth is infected. A root canal procedure may be required when a cavity becomes deep enough into a tooth to expose the fragile pulp inside or if you have injured a tooth. Dr. Desai will take out all of the soft pulp from inside the tooth, rinse out the infection, and fill the inside with composite material similar to what is used in cavity fillings during the root canal treatment. Once the inside is filled, it can no longer become infected, and the tooth is saved.
